Matthew Spalding is Vice President of Washington Operations for Hillsdale College in Washington, D.C. He oversees the operations of the Allan P. Kirby Jr. Center and is Dean of the Van Andel Graduate School of Government. He is the best-selling author of We Still Hold These Truths: Rediscovering Our Principles, Reclaiming Our Future (ISI Books, 2009), and co-author of A Sacred Union of Citizens: George Washington’s Farewell Address and the American Character (Rowman & Littlefield, 1996).
